A chef driven by flavour, season and provenance
Alice Staple trained at Leith's School of Food and Wine in 1999 and has spent the decades since immersing herself in the food cultures of Europe — most profoundly Italy — a country that fundamentally shaped her approach to cooking. It was there she learned that great food begins long before it reaches the stove: in the soil, the season and the hands of the people who grow it.
Back in London, Alice has built a loyal following among private and corporate clients who value her meticulous sourcing, elegant presentation and the care she brings to every event. Based in Brixton, she cooks across the capital — from Herne Hill and Clapham to Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Mayfair — as well as nationally and internationally for the right occasion.
Over the past 25 years she has cooked across the globe — for private households, high-profile corporate clients and intimate family gatherings — earning a reputation for food that is quietly stunning and service that is completely seamless.
Alice is also Executive Chef of Maremma, an Italian restaurant in Brixton celebrating the regional flavours of Tuscany's Maremma coast.
